A Learning Place for the Success of All

The Takini School School Board has approved the Reopening Plan for School Year 2020-2021.  Takini School's Reopening Plan is aligned with the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe’s COVID-19 Emergency Response Status.  The Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe is currently on Level 4:  COVID Multiples, within this section, school's are identified as closed.  Takini School will be implementing Phase C:  Virtual E-Learning for students on August 24, 2020.

We  hope you had a relaxing and safe summer vacation and are looking forward to the new venture we are about to embark on.   This is an exciting time for Takini School as Virtual

E-Learning will be a new experience for all of us.  As a team I know we will implement this learning style with ease to have an enjoyable and productive school year.

Thank you for enrolling your child with Takini School during the School Year 2020-2021.  We are pleased to be providing education through the School Board approved virtual platform during the unprecedented COVID-19 global pandemic to ensure the safety of all stakeholders.  Takini School purchased devices for all students to have the opportunity to attend virtual instruction.
We would like to remind parents/guardians and students of our expectations for device use:
  1. IT actively monitors device usage, as these devices are intended for academic use only.
  2. Please remind your student not to change the password that was issued by Takini School.
  3. Please charge your students device at the end of each school day to ensure that the device is fully charged for the next school day.
  4. Eating and drinking is prohibited while using the device; this will keep the device safe for everyday use.
  5. You will need to protect your device; do not throw, sit on, or mishandle the device - Takini School has issued all students a carrying case for extra protection.
  6. If you break your device you will not be issued a new device as these are limited; currently manufactures are delayed in making more devices due to a high supply and demand.
  7. You will be financially responsible for your students' device if it is returned broken as this is Takini School property and will need to be replaced.
Takini School would like to commend our parents/guardians/students for the support in transitioning to our virtual learning platform.  We appreciate meeting with each of you daily.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Bowman, K-12 Principal/SPED Director
Ms. Veit, Superintendent
